I'm trying to fix 5 year old Macbook for some one .The problem is hard-drive space used up but the person has very little pictures ,music and work on the computer.
Some how only 7GB free of the 80GB hard-drive.
There is a similar thread http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=672477
Thread never got resolved.
well normally when I'm trying fix the same problem on PC running windows it is do to.
1.Bad sector
2.swap file /page file
3.hidden OS system support files
4.malware
5.windows files to keep OS running and windows needs lots of files and I mean lots, lots and lots of files!!!
But do not have that much experience here. What could the problem be.
I would try emptying all of the caches first (I once reclaimed 50 gb doing this!). There are freeware tools such as Onyx that will do this for you.
You could also use a tool like diskinventory to identify any large swap files that might be hanging around.

Hi everyone!
Fellow Australian here... I will hopefully be at the Ginza store as soon as possible after work. Hopefully the trains aren't too packed.
Can't wait!

Then the article served its purpose. Until advertisers stop paying for page views and start paying only for click throughs this click baiting crap will continue. Posting links to this kind of stuff only makes it worse. Summarize or post the article here, with attribution, if you actually think it is worth comment.

I have tried to find it before and I remember glancing at it but does anyone know where the official list is where it states the benefits of specific rankings?
Its right here: http://guides.macrumors.com/Help:MacRumors_FAQ#How_do_user_titles_work.3F

Maybe I'll go, I am not sure though, depends what I am doing.
And West Farms technically is in Farmington, not West Hartford. I know it gets confusing- West Hartford, Farmington, and New Britain. Kinda like that blur of Simsbury, Canton, and Avon.

Its also the buggiest thing on the OS, it disables typing after a few minutes, doesnt want to load web pages some times, and everytime you skip around in a flash video it starts it as a new download without killing the old one meaning youll end up with a bunch of FLV's being downloaded at the same time killing your bandwidth and having your video stopped on sites that dont allow multiple connections.
I agree. While I love how fast it is, I keep having scrolling issues when there are multiple tabs open. I have to reload a tab in order to get scrolling to come back. Anyone having a similar issue?

Since trading pokemons will be incredibly easy thanks to Wi-Fi, I wouldn't bother much with the decision, just choose the legendary Pokemon you'd like to have (either the pearl exclusive or diamond exclusive), the rest you'll probably be able to get almost effortlessly through trading.
In any case you'll have lots of fun with either, there are not many differences between each.
I might be getting a DS just for this game... it looks too good to pass on...

Hello my fellow Columbus folks!
I got bored last night around 1:30 AM, and drove past the apple store to chat with any campers, but there weren't any.
But, there were employees working in the store at that hour.

No, Stella. They are a helluva lot more than just javascript. Go look it up and post your findings.
I came to the same conclusion as Stella after reading both of those linked to stories. These sound just like bookmarklets, except you don't have to manually type in the javascript string. What am I missing? And don't tell me to google it -- I already tried.
Technically, modules are somehow similar to bookmarklets, but with more features and more flexibility. This means the modules are written in JavaScript code and they can do everything that can be done with JavaScript. Unlike bookmarklets, where the complete JavaScript code must be squeezed in one single line so that it can be used as a URL with “javascript” scheme, the modules can be nicely formatted, without any line limitation. Modules have a special header section where the module properties are defined. The properties include an icon that is displayed in the Modules panel of iCab Mobile, but also settings which do allow the user to configure the module in the iCab Mobile module settings panel.
That's from iCAB's website. Yes, technically it's third party code, but so is the javascript on any website. I don't really see the distinction. If malicious javascript can do damage through the modules then I don't see why it couldn't do it through the browser as well.

Sorry, but I'll be checking in on the rumour sites during the show. delayed gratification is one thing, but, i won't be able to wait.
You guys obviously have more self restraint than I!
(Damn, I obviously still have US spelling turned on. It's RUMOURS, Macbook. Geddit???)

I really enjoyed it. Definitely kept my attention the whole time.
If I had to pick apart anything I'd say the weakest graphic would be the rit dye packaging folding up at :33-:35 but I thought everything else was very strong and appealing.

I don't think there any any improvements. I can make the issue happen at will. It never drops to 'no service' but always drops bars. Not really an issue to me, but I wouldn't be hopeful in getting a 'fixed' iP4.

yup dccorona, maybe I should avoid Dr. Dre Tour, I heard some good and bad reviews about them, it seems like they have inconsistent built quality...

I was in a similar, ish, situation. Other half has Pokemon Black, but our DS Lites don't like our WiFi (how dare we use WPA...), so we decided to upgrade one unit to something more modern.
Initially we bought a 3DS, but sent it back within a few days. The handling of DS games on the upper screen isn't that good to be honest (scaling issues), and we felt the 3D was a waste of time and money. Instead we picked up a new DSi for 95 (love airports), and it's great - less than half the cost, far superior battery life, and also supports WPA and the DSi store.

I was in the same position as you and I just got the 4. I really didn't feel like waiting until possibly Sept for the 5. As other have said, it will run iOS 5 and the 4 is still leaps and bounds ahead of many other phones.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this issue while running Windows 7 from boot camp: My internal speakers don't work - but all sounds work perfectly if I plug in a pair of headphones. I've read about a lot of cases where Windows 7 still assumes a pair of headphones have been plugged in with other Macs and that 'jiggling' the headphones resolves the issue, but that's not my problem. Windows 7 reports - correctly - that headphones are NOT plugged in, yet still no sound through my speakers.
To make it even more frustrating, my speakers were working for the first few boots into Windows 7, but now I can't get a single sound. I've tried reloading all the latest bootcamp drivers, installing other sound drivers (Realtek and Cirrus) with no results. I don't boot into Win 7 often, but it would be nice to have sound. It's these kind of issues that do NOT make me miss the Win experience. :)
Anyone else with this experience? I can't find anything that reports this problem with other MBAs. I'm running a 13" ultimate, but was curious to see if any other Late 2010 MBA owners were running into the same issue.
Thanks for sharing any similar experiences!
Just fyi- never had this problem with any of my Windows based desktops/laptops and my Macs with W7 installed. It isn't a common problem with Windows.
That said- make sure you've updated to the latest version of Boot Camp, updated all the software updates available, and enabled the speakers as an output device (Control Panel\Hardware and Sound, then click Sound, then right click Speakers and click enable if it's disabled). Try the Configure option to test sound output in that menu too.
