They should have add Wi-Fi, up the 400 Model to HDMI, 120GB Harddrive, then give the core 20Gb harddrive and Wi-Fi, and no HDMI. None of this werid 3rd SKU...still better then no Xbox 360 improvement, plus the kept the low end so I can buy what I want.

I hope my (recently RoD fixed) 360 doesn't break down after the 1yr warranty is up because if it does, I may spend my money elsewhere (ie Ps3 if I don't already own one) where at least I know I won't be nickel-and-dimed. :cool:
After this fiasco, I don't think I'll be spending much money in the XBLM anymore. I spent (roughly) $5 on 3 UFC videos (including Liddell-Ortiz 1) and for my trouble, I have 4gigs free on my 12g HD. (I say 12g since that's all they give us on a "20g HD".)

Nym: No offence, but I am pretty sure that NOT ONE of the US founders was a Catholic. THere were some deists, most were Anglican, maybe a few Quakers, maybe a few Calvinists and what would later be called Baptists. Several agnostics/atheists. Isn't Best Buy participating in the pre-ordering program on June 15th? Apple Stores are, as is AT&T. At both places, the phones will be ready for pickup on the 24th ---AT&T promises front-of-the-line, no waiting for pre-ordering customers. Of course, you have to pay for it when you order it, but. . .
Best Buy hasn't officially said anything about how the pre-order process will work or when it will start, but im sure they will announce something before the 15th.

I've been streaming divx movies over 802.11b from my main windows pc to a dedicated POS 866 PIII with a video out to my TV for 4 or 5 years (This is before I learned the greatness of ... i.e. could afford a mac). I don't see how having an airport with airtunes/video would be a problem. I would buy one in a heartbeat, because it is much cheaper than buying a Mac mini for that sole purpose.
And althougth the current resolution of iTunes video is lower res than DVD, it still looks pretty good when I hook up my powerbook to my TV. It's not fantastic, but it looks better fullscreen on my 32" tube than my 24" LCD monitor. The only problem I have with it is when they crop 16x9 shows down to 4x3. I want to see Lost in all its glory.

Well, C2Ds have been shipping for that long, and Apple is the only notebook manufacturer who has not even announced! (Lenovo's announcement Monday left Apple as the sole hold-out.)
So, yes, they are "falling behind." (And that's if they announce within the next couple of weeks - if they wait until MWSF, it's just embarassing!)

Apple was first to bring realtime effects to a mainstream platform with motion as Motion used the GPU for effects. Eventually other large software houses followed suit. Problem is that Motion sucks in so many other ways it fell by the way side.
Now with Final Cut X Apple is leap frogging again with Grand Central Dispatch, etc. These speed advantages are a huge reason for some of the best editors in the world to stay onboard with final cut and buy more apple boxes - which cost about the same as a pc when you add the extra costs of 3rd party pc software and the like. Besides reliability is essential for editors and Macs have that in spades.

The question is whether this new release and their strategy is going to continue to draw working editors away from Avid or just continue to be a great prosumer video editing tool that has gotten easier to use.
You can't evaluate the product based on an Apple pitch if you rely on your editing software for a living. How do you know it kicks out and accurate EDL? How do you know if it still kicks out solid OMF files to your sound designer?
Avid, Final Cut, Premiere, they are all just tools and you have to use the right tool for the job.

There's a note... since 2000 there have been about 2-2.5 million PC+other tablets sold in the market.. in 10 years... Apple pushed out 15% of that figure in one weekend...

I thought it was supposed to be easier to use and one didn't have to be a pro to use it.
This is more of simplification of pro workflows, organization, and needs. It isn't trying to become iMovie, it's trying to make what professionals do on a daily basis easier for them. At least that's the impression I get.
I'm extremely excited to see all the features they're bringing. This is already going to make my workflow a lot shorter so it can't come soon enough.
