The feature is part of iTunes, so I'm sure it's still there.
Well, it only worked for Shuffle, not the other iPods, so I am not sure. Something to check at the store in three weeks when they become available...

I'm not sure how many people would want a smaller macbook.
Depends on what you mean by smaller. If you mean thinner, lighter and generally less bulky then count me in.

I'm not so sure about that one, unless it's changed in recent years. My 2008 MP (stock 8-core 2.8, bought right off the shelf) was assembled in the USA, according to the decal on the bottom.
Apple shifted to Foxconn as their sole ODM for the MP in 2009.Not sure this is universally true. I've purchased a personal CTO 12-core last year, and 3 more for business use this year, and all of them were "assembled" in Shenzhen (which really amounts to what exactly, popping in 5870s and upping the base 2.66 to 2.93s in two cases). <-- not done in USA though, tracking just showed direct hop to Anchorage, and delivery, in all cases.
I'm going by what I've seen and had access to in recent years. Either you experienced an exception rather than the general rule, such as insufficient stock at the CTO facility (IIRC, they've even used spare parts to build an entire machine to get an order shipped in one instance I'm aware of), or they're shifting away from the previous methodology in favor of using Shenzen for all of it due to the cheap labor (this wouldn't surprise me actually).
The fact there are CTO facilities located in both the US and Ireland are a shock to me, due to the labor costs manufacturers complain so bitterly about.

Right that's it, I'm selling my iPhone 4 today and waiting for the new iPhone 5 in June. I knew it was going to happen around the usual time of the iPhone refresh. Thanks.

For those who are interested in some of the advantages of magnesium, try this (http://www.meridian-mag.com/magnesium/) page. It's in reference to auto parts, but contains interesting general info.
Yes, magnesium is very flammable, but really only in finely powdered form.

what does "(MVNO) on Cingular's network" mean ? In my area, Cingular absolutely STINKS.. even the city council called in Cingular reps to #$@# them out. It's been absolutely terrible since the AT&T/Cingular buyout.
I've since switched to Verizon which has a great network in our area anyway.. but I hate the phones.
Kansast
It basically means they rent out Cingular's network and resell Cingular's service under Apple's name. And since as you said, Cingular sucks horribly, I hope Apple doesn't MVNO with them.

You are right. However, Apple continued to use the G4 in lots of products while still selling other G5 based products.
B
Most likely only because they had too...could you imagine a G5 in a mini or a powerbook?

This is getting exciting.
The billion dollar question: just content purchased from iTunes or all compatible (audio) files in one's iTunes library?
Get real, no way are the music labels going to allow them to do this unless they limit it to music purchased from iTunes.

Currently, 45% of the electrical power generated in the U.S. is produced by burning coal. Even if cars like the Volt are successful, increased demand for more electric power would likely result in more greenhouse gases being emitted.
The coal plants are so efficient at burning coal and that there is a net reduction in carbon for electric cars. Gas cars, even the best of them turn most of the energy in gas into heat. The heat comes ou t through the radiator and the tail pipe. But coal plants turn most of the coal into power and not so much waste heat.
There is now way around it either. gas cars work by burning fuel inside a cylinder in order to raise the temperature of the gas and therefore the pressure which then pushes the piston. So by design there must be waste heat. The heated gas is then pumped out of the engine and the energy in the hot gas is lost.
So it is already a net gain and the US will over the life of the electric car produce cleaner and cleaner electric plants

On the MacBook Pros the graphics connection was downgraded from PCIe x16 to PCIe x8 to get PCIe lanes for the TBolt controller.
Have the teardowns or other info shown whether that's the case for the Imacs?
Well, the CPU only has 16 PCIe lanes so unless there is something magical going on, it is a PCIe x8 slot.

He is the one who tried to kill her.
I'm not convinced he was trying to kill her.
I'm absolutely certain that he was trying to (at least) annoy her, or (at worst) scare the bejeebus out of her.
Under the circumstances, if he was really trying to kill her, I think he would have succeeded.

I think this is a good idea. Hopefully people use this app and after a few weeks of issues AT&T can review the data and start fixing the areas that have problems. I know several spots where I do not get service in DC and I plan on reporting those spots right away.
I'm not sure if this will work at all. AT&T knows that NYC (where I am), SF, and Chicago are their two biggest problems and they don't seem to be doing anything about it. It does not help that two of the three are the most important places regarding tech.
I'll give AT&T the benefit of the doubt as I hear Long Island is pretty good. OTOH my kid sister goes to Cornell and is forced to use Verizon because AT&T has no coverage there.

even thou it can be spec'ed that way, it has an empty 2nd socket.
And your point is?
Back in 2009 The Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/04/11/microsoft_flames_macs/page2.html)specced up an SP 5500 and a Mac Pro
Mac Pro $2,499
Dell T5500 $3,630
So for over $1100 less you could get a Mac Pro instead of a Dell. A bit like getting a Mercedes that costs less than a Hyundai. :D

It's a toss up between being broke for two months and going or not going and being slightly less broke......
It would cost me specifically about £200 to do which is not too bad but still a chunk of change.
